There are a few tips that you can follow when setting out to buy a new car.
Shop Around
Almost goes without saying but you should visit at least 3 or 4 car yards to get a rough idea of pricing and what will be included in the price.
Timing is important
You would have heard this no doubt but the best time to buy is usually towards the end of month as this is when salesmen are more likely to discount if they need to meet targets and they are falling behind! This won’t always work but it is worth a chance!
It’s already in the car yard
It could be worthwhile seeing if you would get a discount if you bought a car that is already in the car yard. This may mean a slight change in preference but the dollars saved could make this worthwhile.
Don’t be pushed into making a decision
Any salesman will try to close the deal while you are in front of them but don’t let them do this unless you know that it is a great deal. It will still be there if walk back in later!
Watch out for the extras
It’s not unheard of for a dealer to try and upsell as a way of increasing the bottom line so make sure that any extras that you sign up for are ones that you really want. This could be extended warranties, floor mats, paint protection any hundreds of others!
Get pre-approved for your finance
We can do this for you. You often see great rates advertised for cars but this doesn’t always mean lower repayments. What you need to do is to look at exactly what you will pay over the life of the loan because this is what is important.
